I just used pictures off the internet, so we would attach my skating dress and Matt's hockey jersey to a board where the pictures are. Then on either side of the board I'm thinking of putting iced branches in clusters. What do you think? Please be honest and feel free to give me other ideas as well. Thanks!

hey Janelle, it doesn't work for me to look.
No, me either
I have been to and taken pictures at a LOT of weddings and I think the head tables that have simple backdrops look the most amazing and so classy on photos and in person. Toulle/Fabric and lights can go a long way.
If you want to have a display with some of your "stuff" ie. the dress and jersey ande some of your favorite things you can always do that somewhere else. I would suggest keeping that stuff away from the headtable and keeping things simple up there, so nothing takes attention away from the two of you :)
I have to agree with Becky, I too think you should keep it simple with lights and toulle and then have the other stuff displayed somewhere else.
We had a really simple back drop and I have never regretted doing it that way. We just had toulle and lights, like Becky suggested, and it was so nice and classy. Hopefully you can figure out what you want to do.
It's always fun to incorporate your lives in the decor of a wedding, but I also agree that you should keep the background simple. A lot of pictures are taken of the couple at the head table and it looks nice to have a simple, basic background for them.
Have fun planning!!
Yep, I have to agree with the ladies above... lights and toule with your iced branches would look warm and set a nice tone for pictures. The dress and jersey could be by the guest book / gift area set up for the reception.
Oh hey, did you get that thank you card from me and Jon? I think I forgot it at G&G's from the thanksgiving gathering.
to answer your question... clubs went really well - I think!! As good as it can go on the first day! Thanks for asking.
We had to red hearts with little holes around the outside where we stuck christmas lights in. If you want I could send you a picture!
